Opportunities exist to maximize the impact of technical education by:
Improving the education
process
, through instructor development training,
Identifying critical
content
, and integrating/reinforcing key concepts throughout the curriculum,
Complementing
university courses with industry education programs tailored to meet specific needs.
These strategies are being used to improve the effectiveness of a three year business-specific education program, the GE Advanced Courses in Engineering and Manufacturing (ACE/M). Many of these challenges apply equally to university courses and curricula, and similar efforts are underway at the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering.
