A new paradigm for managing large, distributed, international and intercultural organizations has emerged through corporate restructuring and mergers. This significantly has increased stakeholders and multiplied the volume and types of interactions between them. A product program is both a learning system and a communications network. Support for new organizational structures and program management entails virtual organizations utilizing multimedia electronic teleconferencing, automated program management tools and new forms of computer supported collaborative work This paper contains use cases of networked learning and program management in virtual organizations from transnational corporations, and analyzes the intercultural and organizational communication variables involved. It demonstrates how these technologies promote effective program management in the most complex environments.
