Hydraulic System of John Deere 8000 Series Row Crop Tractors 952111

The John Deere 8000 Series agricultural tractors, introduced in August 1994 represent a dramatic change in visibility, maneuverability, power, and control unprecedented in tractors this size. It's basic chassis configuration was even granted a U.S. patent. The hydraulic system is significantly different than the previous John Deere models they replace, but similar to changes started by the 7000 Series tractor design. The new system adopted the closed center pressure-flow compensated design for tractor/implement control. Totally new components are used for all systems including pumps, brakes, electro-hydraulic remote valves and hitch, breakaway couplers, steering, charge circuit, and filtration. The new system provides performance improvements in several areas and an exclusive CommandArmTM and unique TouchSet hydraulic control panel for unmatched operator convenience and control. This paper describes the hydraulic system structure, components, and some of the engineering considerations dealt with in the development process.
