This paper will discuss in detail Delco Electronics Corporation's experiences when applying both passive and active Airbag Sensing and Discrimination Systems to North American Truck Platforms. Additionally, the paper will briefly discuss some of the features and functions of the Central Airbag Controllers (SDM's) developed by Delco Electronics to meet Worldwide Airbag System Applications.
