Fuel Quality Improvements through Multifunctional Fuel Additives 2000-01-1440

Increased awareness regarding the adverse effects of pollutants from automobile exhaust gases has been the main driving force for implementation of more and more stringent legislation on automobile exhaust emissions in many countries.
Engine technologies being adopted by the engine manufacturers to meet these emission requirements are sensitive to the fuel quality and hence require modification in fuel properties for satisfactory engine performance.
Usage of multifunctional fuel additives as a cost effective approach to address these requirements is briefly discussed in this paper along with the factors necessitating the usage of fuel additives.
