A Study about Mixture Formation in Gasoline and Ethanol Otto Cicle Internal Combustion Engines and the Influence of Combustion Chamber Shape in Engine Performance 2002-01-3461

It describes the state of the art of mixture formation and combustion chamber shape in gasoline and ethanol spark ignition engines, and their evolution until today, and it is cited the brazilian experience with ethanol engines at the 1970 as implementation of alternative fuel, as well as utilized recourses in that occasion. The combustion chambers projects is analyzed with emphasis in turbulence, squish, swirl, detonation, and their influences in engine performance, and it is done a comparative analysis of ethanol engine as alternative source of energy.
