Electric Sensor for Measurement of the Mass Ratio of Ethanol and Regular Gasoline Mixtures 2003-01-3659
In this work is presented an electric impedance sensor for measurement of the mass ratio of ethanol and regular gasoline blends. It was carried out a quantitative evaluation of the electric bulk conductivity of mixtures at several liquid-liquid mass ratios, with the goal of applications to automotive flexible-fuel injection systems. There is an apparent relationship between a non-dimensional conductivity parameter and the corresponding fuel mass ratio, which can be used for fuel mixture composition detection in real time, during the injection process. This work is following the Brazilian automotive industry trend of using flexible-fuel in automobiles.
