Structural Development of a Shock Absorber for a McPherson Suspension 2003-01-3675

This paper describes the methodology used for the development, regarding the structural aspect, of a shock absorber for a McPherson front suspension.
The paper will show how changes in adjacent components can affect specific component; also it will show how some failure mode in a component can vary due to small adjustments; finally, it will show how starting from a vehicle issue can be created a rig test, that could be used in the issue resolution.
