Configurable Vehicle Networks 2003-28-0012

In the recent days, an automotive vehicle uses many Electronic Control Units (ECUs) to perform various time-critical functions. These ECUs are interconnected through multiplex vehicle networks. These networks typically use CAN (Controller Area Network) as a main backbone network and LIN as sub-networks connected through Gateways.
This paper is aimed to cover the following topics:
  • Evolution of Vehicle Networking
  • Standards followed for vehicle networking
  • Typical issues that OEM faces during vehicle integration
  • Development of Configurable Network Components to overcome the above issues.
