Development and Market Launch of the World's First Oil Module with a Fully Plastic Housing 2004-01-0006

Oil modules play a critical role in the fluid management system of internal combustion engines. For these modules, technical plastics are increasingly replacing aluminium or steel because they are lighter, more flexible and above all cheaper. This paper describes the development of the oil module with fully heat-resistant and pressure-resistant plastic housing. This oil module is integrated into Audi's new 2.0-litre four-cylinder FSI petrol engine.
