To provide this functionality, a telematics system relies on collaboration with off-vehicle computers. This creates the requirement for an efficient, reliable, and secure communications framework suitable for use over wireless networks. This paper will discuss how a modern messaging system combined with Java Message Service can be a strong base to build upon.
