A Numerical Study on the Oscillatory Impinging Jet 2004-01-1736

In this paper, we present the flow and heat transfer characteristics of an oscillatory impinging jet by using the numerical computation with a parallel computer. Numerical solutions were obtained for dimensionless gap H=4, dimensionless outlet length L=45 and Reynolds number Re=1500. It was found that the oscillatory impinging jet generated the uniform heat transfer area even though the maximum heat transfer is lower than non-oscillatory impinging jet for certain parameter sets. We also found that heat transfer depends on the period of the nozzle motion for the oscillatory impinging jet
