The Development of a Measurement and Data Logging System for the In-Cylinder Temperature and Combustion of an IC Engine 2004-01-2980

A system for measuring the temperature and combustion level inside the combustion chamber of an IC engine based on the development of different ionization and thermocouple probes embedded in the head gasket. The use of a digital multi-meter linked to an IBM PC and the development of interface software in C++ for the data logging of temperature, coupled with the use of an oscilloscope for measuring the ionization current, as well as for finding the thickness and velocity of the flame front.
