Development of Low Friction Radial Lip Seals 2008-01-1479

Demands for low friction radial lip seals are growing with the increase in low energy consumption machines. To meet such demands, we have developed a seal with 35% lower frictional torque than conventional lip seals by surface processing the seal lips with coating agent with oustanding wear-resistance and low frictional properties. The sealability and eccentricity followability of seals coated with this coating were the same as uncoated lip seals. The low friction properties realized by this coating were also confirmed to last.
