Horsepower Rating - for commercial vehicle brakes 600065

THIS IS a progress report on the AMA-TTMA program to develop a brake horsepower absorption rating system. The authors outline the need for service brake rating and the application of rating methods to determine the braking ability of commercial vehicles.
The first part of the paper describes the problem which faces the motor truck industry in the establishment of a rating formula. The second part presents one possible method. Both authors agree that many problems are still to be solved.*
