The AC Dual ACtion Crankcase Ventilation System 630088

The discovery of the importance of crankcase emissions as automotive air pollutants has focused new attention on crankcase ventilation systems. Thus, new systems must consider the criteria and requirements of air pollution authorities as well as those of automotive engineers. This paper reviews these criteria and discusses a new crankcase ventilation system developed to meet them. The new system provides a dual path for blowby emissions to enter the engine induction system. By this means, blowby emissions are completely consumed in the engine in spite of the many operational variables that may occur.
