Delivery of Clean, Dry, Thermally Stable Jet Fuel to Supersonic Aircraft by In-Field Catalytic Filtration 640109
New manufacturing processes as well as contemplated new, improved processes are presently available to supply the demands of refineries for supersonic jet fuel as to quantity, quality, and favorable cost. Even with the use of present storage and transportation common carriers and/or dedicated carriers when maintained scrupulously clean, the present in-field filter coalescers were not designed to meet the new requirements for removing essentially all contaminants (submicronic particulate matter, soluble and insoluble chemical and biological contaminants, water, surfactants, and so on). Ashland's two years of experience with in-field catalytic filtration has demonstrated one practical solution for jet fuel handling by delivering many millions of gallons of clean, dry, and thermally stable fuel to supersonic aircraft and Mach 3 engines.
