The continued successful development and operation of jet transports requires a complete and thorough flight test program prior to introduction of a new model airplane into airline service. The flight test program for the Boeing 727, applying the knowledge gained by the Boeing Co., the FAA, and customer airlines from previous jet transport flight tests and operations, was the most complete and extensive test program ever accomplished on a commercial jet transport.
