Effect of the Cone Angle of the Impeller Hub of the Mixed Flow Compressor upon Performance Characteristics 650037

Experimental compressors, with impellers having impeller hub inclinations different from the rotation axis, and fitted with corresponding vaneless parallel walled diffusers, were tested. The results showed that the 45 deg impeller had the highest total pressure ratios and slip coefficients, especially at large weight flows. The 60 deg impeller had only slightly lower values, and the centrifugal impeller had the lowest.
