Loading Conditions Measured During Aerobatic Maneuvers 700222

A flight test program has been conducted to determine some of the loading conditions experienced in aerobatic maneuvers. A small aerobatic airplane was instrumented to measure three components of linear acceleration, three components of angular velocity, control surface positions, control stick forces, airspeed, and altitude. The magnitude of various loading parameters, singly and in combination, are discussed and used as a basis for assessing some of the structural design requirements for aerobatic category airplanes.
