The Manufacture of Disc Brake Linings 750228

The primary responsibility of the process is to produce linings repeatedly that meet engineering specifications and will perform in a consistent manner in end point use.
The material discussed is organic and is composed of eight ingredients. The lining produced weighs approximately 1/3 lb and projects 10.3 in2 of braking surface.
Because the material is organic and is composed of approximately 50% asbestos, another important engineering objective must be met. The production area where this lining is manufactured must have sufficient air quality to meet the Occupational Safety and Health Act standard for asbestos.
