Reliability Prediction of Automotive Electronics 810452

This paper will discuss the need for a viable reliability prediction methodology for electronic components and assemblies used in automotive applications. Existing prediction techniques (such as MIL-HDBK-217) will be discussed and their suitability for use by the automotive industry evaluated. Characteristics of a useful prediction model will be identified and suggestions for implementing such a technique will be proposed.
