Laser Anemometer Measurements of the Air Motion in the Prechamber of an Automotive Diesel Engine 830452

Laser anemometer measurements of the air velocity in the prechamber of an automotive diesel engine were made to verify/modify an analytical model of the fluid dynamics and thermodynamics of the combustion cycle.
A special head was constructed to allow optical access to the prechamber volume. The service temperature of this modified head was limited, thus only motoring data was obtained.
