Constrained Adjustment of Analytical Stiffness Matrices 851932

A procedure is described that can use mode data, static test data, and structural geometry information to optimally adjust deficient stiffness matrices. The adjustments can be performed subject to weighting of individual stiffness coefficients, and the physical configuration of the analytical model is preserved. In addition, the adjustments can be performed such that the adjusted model will reproduce the modes used in the identification. The theoretical development is presented, and the procedure is demonstrated by numerical simulation of several test problems. Furthermore, the procedure's sensitivity to noise in measured mode data is studied.
