Neway AR-90 Trailer Air Suspension 852346

A new air suspension for commercial trailers has been developed by Neway Division of Lear Siegler, Inc. The suspension uses a unique topmount configuration with a two-pin rubber bushed axle connection. Since it has approximately 9 inches of axle travel it is called the AR-90 model.
The main design objectives for the AR-90 were reduced cost and weight, excellent durability, a compact package, ease of installation and overall simplicity.
Adaptability of the suspension to various trailer configurations as well as compatibility with industry available axles and brakes was of prime importance. Development of the concept was done with this in mind.
This paper will deal with the design, development testing, and production implementation of the Neway AR-90 suspension.
