Dynamic Analysis of Free Piston Stirling Engines by Modal Transformation Method 860061

The paper deals with the modal transformation of a mathematical model for control purposes and with the analysis of the model parameters influence on the dynamics of free piston Stirling engines. The approach presented in this paper differs from the conventional one; it allows to evaluate natural frequencies of the basic system and to obtain exact solution of the equations of motion for multi-degree-of-freedom systems by the analytical expression. The proposed mathematical model is suitable for design modifications of the engine.
