Anticorrosion of Painted Galvanized Steel in Relation with Physical Properties of the Paint Film 860111
In order to elucidate the anticorrosion properties of painted Galvan-nealed Steel(GA) in relation with physicochemical properties of paint films such as adhesion, anticorrosion performance of the painted GA was examined by natural weathering along with artificial corrosion tests and the following results were obtained.
1.
In the filiform corrosion and natural weathering test, anticorrosive performances of painted GA are superior to painted cold rolled steel (CR).
However, the GA was inferior to the latter in the salt fog test and the wet adhesion test.
2.
In the filiform corrosion, the natural weathering and the wet adhesion test, the stress relaxation, adhesion as well as the barrier effect of paint films are very important to the anti-corrosion performance.
3.
In salt fog test, the resistivity against permeaton is the decisive factor to the corrosion preventive properties.
Also, the effect is more pronounced with GA than with CR.
