Photogrammetric Deformation Measurement of Crash Vehicles 860207

The determination of the deformation of objects in crash test is of considerable significance for the evaluation of the crash test results. The data obtained allow to understand the deformation mechanisms, which in turn serve as a basis for potential changes to the vehicle. In the absence of photogrammetric measurement devices, deformation data must be acquired by means of complicated measurements using a measuring platform, a method which hampers or delays the evaluation of crash test results. Until recently, the high expenditure involved in deformation analyses made it advisable to evaluate only a small number of selected tests. By means of the photogrammetric deformation measurement, each crash test can be recorded.
