Applications of Non-Contact Position Sensors of the Eddy Current Type 860477
Eddy current effects have long been known and either exploited or avoided in electrical applications. More recently the phenomena has been coupled with modern electronics to make low cost contactless position and proximity sensors. The concept can make use of an operating frequency selected from a wide range in the RF spectrum.
