Lightweight Pistons 880729

A new generation of pistons has been made possible through advances in materials, casting techniques, computer simulation and design refinements. Known as “Lightweight Pistons”, they exhibit apparent densities as low as 0,45 (g/cm3) smaller compression height, reduced friction losses and very good blowby and oil control. Consequently, 3 to 5% lower fuel consumption can be reliably achieved and emissions reduced without engine redesign.
