Modeling and Dynamic Simulation of a Hydraulically Driven Backhoe 901640

The dynamic behavior of a hydraulically driven backhoe is obtained to demonstrate the feasibility of carrying out preliminary design studies by use of computer simulation, assuming the fluid to be incompressible. A simplified model, consisting of a constant flow pump, hydraulic valving, actuators and mechanical elements is developed for the open-loop system. The results from an open-loop response to an operator command input are shown, using the DADS simulation program, modified to handle the incompressible case.
