Thermal Analysis of a Powertrain Control Module 931090

This paper describes a thermal performance study of a powertrain control module. The study was initiated by a requirement for added functionality and power dissipation capacity in the module. The goals of the study were to develop accurate and flexible power dissipation and thermal models for the module that can be used to evaluate alternate designs. Accurate thermal modeling of a PCM requires the cooperation and integration of Electrical, Mechanical and Systems Engineering.
