Fully Synthetic Gasoline Additive Packages to Meet the Needs of the 90s 932809

Deposit control additives have become an essential feature of modern high quality gasolines in Europe and are likely to become more important in other parts of the world. This paper describes the development and evaluation of a new gasoline detergent additive system which has been designed to satisfy all the stringent performance targets found in Europe. Details of bench engine, chassis dynamometer and road tests are presented to demonstrate that the new detergent additive system can provide engine cleanliness without detrimental effects on emissions and vehicle performance, particularly octane requirement increase (ORI) and intake valve sticking.
