Optimisation of Drive Comfort of a Car by Means of a Road Simulation Approach 951277
The ultimate goal for a car company in using a road simulation approach for the optimisation of drive comfort, is to save time and money in the development of a new car model by testing different versions of the car on the test stand instead of on public roads. This is only possible if the same accelerations as measured on the road can be reproduced on a 4-poster test rig.
In the first part of this paper, an approach to perform this simulation is explained. In the second part, a project is described the purpose of which was to determine the application field, strengths, but also limitations of the proposed road simulation approach for the optimisation of the drive comfort of a car.
