Incorporating Zinc's Bearing Properties into Die Casting Design 960762
It is well documented that zinc die casting is a highly efficient fabricating process which produces cost-effective, net-shape components and subassemblies. Less documented are zinc alloy's mechanical properties which enable designers to integrate bearing surfaces into an assembly without the use of inserts or more expensive materials. By taking advantage of zinc alloy's natural lubricity, designers are developing cost-effective, high-performance components and subassemblies.
