The Possibility of the Utilization of Crude Palm Oil as Direct Automotive Diesel Oil Blender Viewed from Its Specification 961179

An observation has been made to see the possibility of the utilization of crude palm oil (CPO) directly as a direct automotive diesel oil (ADO) blender. The CPO is firstly filtered and blended with ADO and then added with kerosene. The filtered CPO can be blended at room temperature at any portion with ADO forming a stable homogeneous mixture. The mixture of 85%v CPO/ADO (27.5%v CPO: 72.5% ADO): 15%v kerosene meets the Indonesian ADO specification except TAN value (12.41) and ASTM color (3.5). The refining of the CPO, however, prior to its addition into ADO, can reduced TAN value down to 0.97.
