Development of 500cm ³ Class Road Racing Motorcycle with an Engine of Two-Stroke and Two-Cyclinder for Marketing 978481

A 500cm³ 2-cyUnder roadracer with high cost-performance was developed to stimulate the motorcycle roadracing community. Its driving performance is comparable to a 4-cylinder racer's. The main goal was to give this new 2-cylinder 500cm³ roadracer better cornering performance comparable to a 250cc racer's, which would supplement its lower power compared to a 4-cylinder racer's. First, various theoretical studies on roadability (driving performance) was conducted. Various weight-reducing designs were, then, adopted in engine and frame parts, and detailed testing was conducted. Through these studies and tests, a 2-cylinder 500cm³ roadracer, the size of which is similar to a 250cm³ racer's, was developed.
